How time flies!! It has now been over two years since my wife Jean and I took over the Hare and Hounds and a lot has changed in this still relatively short time span.

So what has changed?
Our Bar and Restaurant have been refurbished with new leather seating throughout, Dine in the restaurant or bar and enjoy the comfort of our traditional inn. The Restaurant has gone from strength to strength, with many friendly faces returning again and again.
Recently launched, our Hare & Hounds Dining Club, is new and exciting way to be kept in touch with the bar & restaurant. Just send us an email with your details and we’ll add you on and keep you informed of some great ways to dine out, from our: highly popular Steak & Grill Nights, a fixed price 2 course meal available every Friday evening, at only £17.50 per person, the price really is right; Candlelit supper evenings; Holiday Hog Roasts; Al Fresco dining in the Observatory; and much more…. There has never been a better time to get to know The Hare & Hounds!!
Our 30 en suite bedrooms are now completely refurbished, giving us the ideal base for business or leisure. Why not have dinner and treat yourselves by staying overnight from just £40 per couple for bed & breakfast*. All rooms have new beds, bathrooms, furnishings and linen, and the star attraction is our suite, with its separate lounge area and bespoke pine furniture, it’s a real home from home.

The Hare and Hounds has fast become a bar, restaurant and hotel of which Speen, and Newbury can be very proud. One of the first things I wrote on our blackboards was the following, it was written not from some clever marketing angle, but purely because it was how I felt, both in October, and now….
